Laura’s log of events so far …

Our adventure together began...

 On July 7, 2003 at 5:00 pm on a gloriously sunny day in my parents’ backyard in Anchorage, Alaska.  Our guests arrived to participate in an intimate tea party wedding.  The stage was set with a Franciscan Blessing we had heard at a friends wedding reception a few days earlier.  We often review the meaning of this blessing in our daily lives.  We wish to share it with you. 

“May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths and superficial relationships,

so that you may live deep within your heart.

    May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people,

so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

    May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation and war,

so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and to turn their pain into joy.

    And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world,

so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.”

I find myself too busy writing the rest of this site... will write when things calm down... I hope- more to come ...
